Leading a 30-person cross-functional engineering organisation, including 13 direct reports and 16 skip-level team members across frontend, backend, QA, and engineering management.
- Represented The Economist Group engineering externally through APIDays Conference and led The Economist to India Digital Awards nomination for "Best Use of Cloud & Data Strategy in Architecture."
- Increased portfolio delivery throughput by 3x in six months by implementing an AI-augmented engineering operating model across four squads, improving sprint throughput from 20 to 42 points and moving release cadence from sprint-based delivery to continuous production deployment.
- Improved Viewpoint Platform uptime from 99.0% to 99.9% and achieved zero P1 incidents for six consecutive months by introducing runbooks, alerting policies, on-call schedules, and incident response practices across New Relic, AWS, GitHub, and Cloudflare.
- Led delivery of the Forecasting Data Platform, enabling 100+ analysts to build and publish economic forecasts through an Excel Add-in, Okta/GitHub SSO, .NET Core microservices, AWS, Python model-serving services, and a governed data lake.
- Onboarded 15+ hosted forecasting models and reduced manual analyst data preparation by 30+ hours per week through platform automation and governed model-serving workflows.
- Delivered Viewpoint Report Builder and Operational Risk modules, strengthening non-functional requirements, analytics instrumentation, and architecture review practices to support enterprise subscriber retention and upsell strategy.
- Institutionalised SPAR and FinOps practices across delivery teams, introducing incident response playbooks and cloud cost controls that reduced unplanned outages to near zero and brought infrastructure spend under active governance.
- Scaled engineering maturity across four squads by introducing structured onboarding, competency frameworks, RFC-based decision governance, and consistent engineering quality practices.
- Defined responsible AI adoption standards for engineering teams, including guardrails for AI-assisted code generation, review quality, security, accessibility, and architectural ownership.
- Led key business acquisitions and India business promotion strategies for The Economist group with over $1M client business acquisition.
